The bright blue sky mixed with a few clouds highlights the beautiful beach at Waipapa Point along the Southern Scenic Route in Southland, New Zealand. When the tide is at its lowest, the rocks are bared and visitors may possibly find a Paua Shell which has been left in the sand until the tide changes and buries the sandy beach.
Visitors to Waipapa Point should leave the Paua Shell on the beach as these shells are only found along the coastal shores of New Zealand and a sea creature may still be living inside. A special factory in Southland, New Zealand turns a Paua shell into various items, but not before many hours of sanding and buffing have been done. The Paua Shell Factory is where visitors to Southland, New Zealand should pick up their souvenir and leave the ones on the beach alone.
Waipapa Point is a beautiful place for an afternoon stroll when the tide is out and a tranquil place to stop while driving along the Southern Scenic Route.
