Te Paki Sand Dunes Fun Northland New Zealand

Many people during the summer come to have fun at the Te Paki Sand Dunes located in Northland on the North Island of New Zealand.

Visitors to the Te Paki Sand Dunes in Northland, New Zealand bring out their toboggans, boogie boards and sliding equipment to have fun while they ride down the slopes of the sand dunes. While laying flat on their stomach, facing downhill on the sliding device, people try to get to the quickest possible speed on the way down, some gliding across the water at the bottom.

Climbing back up the sand dunes is not fun and is the hardest part of this outdoor activity as some of the sand dunes can grow to a height of about 100 meters. The dunes have been pushed 5 kilometers inland where they change shape everyday due to the strong winds which come in off the Tasman Sea.

From the peaks of the Te Paki Sand Dunes, one can view the beauty of the incredible landscape surrounding these massive hills.
