Super Sized Sandfly Bushmans Centre Pukekura New Zealand

A super sized Sandfly hangs from a wooden beam outside of the Bushmans Centre in the town of Pukekura on the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand.

In reality, a sandfly is a small, hairy, biting fly which can transmit diseases, but this super sized statue hanging from a post, adorns the front of the building at the Bushmans Centre in Pukekura, New Zealand. The Bushmans Centre is hard to pass by when the super sized sandfly is staring at you and well worth the stop where visitors will find live possums, deer, goats, wild pigs and eels.

A tourist centre in the town of Pukekura consists of The Bushmans Centre, a cafe which caters to breakfast and lunch items, a restaurant serving possum, venison and other types of wild food, a museum and a gift shop full of unique souvenirs, some using the super sized sandfly as a logo.
