A popular spot along the West Coast of the North Island of New Zealand near the city of Auckland is Piha Beach - great for surfing.

The black-iron sands of Piha Beach fringe the shores of the Tasman Sea off the West Coast of New Zealand's North Island. Piha is also the most popular beach in the Auckland region of New Zealand and only 28 kilometres from the heart of the city.
