The tall yellow flower heads on the Torch Lily - Primrose Beauty, sway in the gently breeze along the Southern Scenic Route in Southland, New Zealand as thin wisps of cloud delicately float by. There are various types of Torch Lily which blossom in shades of yellow, red or orange and bloom at different time periods.
The flower heads are made up of long tube like shapes grown in a cluster atop the stem which can reach heights of 5 feet. The Torch Lily prefers well drained soils, heavy wet soil will quickly destroy them, and they love the open space where they receive full sunlight.
