A sculpture of motion, the Windwand was created by artist Len Lye and placed along the waterfront of New Plymouth on the Taranaki Coast of New Zealand's North Island.

Standing at 45 metres in height, the windwand which was created by famous New Zealand born artist Len Lye, is a prominent feature along the Foreshore Coastal Walk in the city of New Plymouth. Inspiration for creating the windwand came from a desire to capture motion in art.
