The vibrant yellow color of the flowers atop the long stems on the Torch Lily - Primrose Beauty, some which reach 5 feet in height, decorate the landscape along the Southern Scenic Route in Southland, New Zealand. Each flower is in a tube like shape which grow in a mass at the top of the plant where they flourish in the open fields thriving in the full rays of the sun.
Various types of the Torch Lily grow, all in a vibrant color of either yellow, red or orange, their only fear being strong winds which could easily snap off the flower head. The Torch Lily will flower in late summer but as winter moves in, they are not particular fond of the cold and may require a little extra tender, loving care.
