The Tasman Sea has an incredible surf at Piha Beach near Auckland, New Zealand where the small town sits along the rugged, but scenic coast.

Piha Beach is a small community located along the West Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, not far from the busy city of Auckland. Here, the beach is guarded by a large rock formation named "Lion Rock" which divides the north and south beaches.

The town has a population of approximately 600 permanent residents with the rest of the houses along the coast being holiday homes. During the summer, Piha Beach becomes fairly crowded as vacationers come here to enjoy the most famous surf beach and the beautiful coastal scenery overlooking the Tasman Sea.
