The sun disappearing behind the rocky coastal shores surrounding the lagoon at Castlepoint in Wairarapa, New Zealand, leaves its remaining rays of light reflecting off the ripples on the surface of the water. The lighthouse watches over the Pacific Ocean and has aided mariners in their journeys since first being lit in 1913. The beacon atop the lighthouse tower, which stands 23 meters high, can be seen for 26 nautical miles.
