The City of Christchurch in Canterbury, New Zealand is the largest one on the South Island and while driving on Summit Road on the Port Hills, people stop to enjoy the scenery of the landscape. The winding, narrow Summit Road makes traveling a little sketchy for some but well worth the trek to enjoy the view. Many cyclists and hikers are also found atop Port Hills especially during the summer months.
Through the center of the City of Christchurch, the Avon River flows with the urban region located along the Banks Peninsula. With a population of approximately 400,000, some of the houses are built on the hillside where they can enjoy the scenery below on a daily basis.
