The facade of the Smiths Grain Store in the historic precinct of Oamaru, Otago on the South Island of New Zealand, displays its beautiful Victorian architecture along Tyne Street.
The historic building was built by James Johnston in 1881 and 1882 and was large enough to store 30,000 sacks of grain when the industry was booming. From 1906 - 1970, the building was used for the production of the local newspaper, the Oamaru Mail.
