The waves lap up onto the coastal shores of Waipiro Bay in East Cape, New Zealand where someone visiting the area, built a make shift wooden shelter out of driftwood found on the sandy beach. This type of scenery reminds one of the TV show "Gilligan's Island" where the crew became stranded on an island and used scraps around the island to make shelters and huts.
Waipiro Bay is not easily found as one must take a detour road off the main through way, but well worth the peacefulness and the sandy beach which is shared by seabirds. Waipiro Bay was once a busy town, but over the years, the town has become very quiet where now the main buildings are a school, a fishing ground, three historical sacred places and a church.
Visitors to Wairpiro Bay in East Cape, New Zealand will also find a flat grassy camping area alongside the sandy beach where toilets and shady pine trees are found and one can scour the beach to find remnants to build their own wooden shelter.
