A sight of beauty is this field of Russell Lupins in the Eglinton River Valley in Fiordland National Park on the South Island of NZ. A tourist stops along Milford Road and walks across the field to capture a picture of the Russell Lupins at their peak.

Various shades of purple, pink and white decorate the field along the Milford Road with their large spikes in colorful blooms reaching heights of between 1 - 1.5 meters. The radiant colored flowers grow in whorls on racemes and can blossom in a variety of colors like blue, orange, pink, purple, red, white and yellow but the purple, pink and white are most commonly seen.

The Russell Lupins bloom from the early days of summer to the middle of the season in Fiordland National Park, NZ and produce in mass amounts along rivers, lakes and road sides in open fields. This is an amazing sight when driving the Milford Road and there are not many people who will not stop to enjoy their beauty while visiting Fiordland National Park during the summer.
