The commercial fruit pickers have days of work ahead as an orchard near Roxburgh in Central Otago, New Zealand is filled with the vibrant hues of ripe apricots. The side of the apricots which receive the most sunlight have turned a red hue with the remainder of the delicious fruit being an orange/yellow color.
Central Otago is a prime location for growing apricots as the temperature and the soil is ideal. Approximately 6.6 thousand tons of fruit comes out of Central Otago, New Zealand every year which includes apricots, cherries, nectarines, peaches and apples.
