To raise money for the Westpac Helicopter Rescue, people of the town of Roxburgh in Central Otago, New Zealand create a horse and wagon procession along the main street. The helicopter rescue is a necessity needed in Central Otago and as the procession makes its way through town, hundreds come out to enjoy the festivities.
Operating since 1950, the Westpac Helicopter Rescue made many rescue missions during the Korean War and today, the helicopters are a fast way to get injured people to the hospital. A family rides along the main street in this horse and wagon with three horses leading the way and others not far behind.
The town of Roxburgh, New Zealand has a population of about 750 and nearly every one in town comes out to enjoy the horse and wagon procession.
