The scenic coastline of Rocky Point at Cape Palliser in Wairarapa, New Zealand is one of breathtaking beauty especially when the waves crash against the rocks. The clouds darken above Rocky Point, filtering out the sunset lighting as dusk and the possibility of a storm move into the area.
Off this coastline, the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean join forces causing extremely treacherous waters at times. When the fury of these waters show their power during a storm, the waves crashing against the rocks can reach great heights as they pummel over the jagged shore.
A road winds its way around this coastline creating breathtaking scenery especially during the hours of dusk. A short distance from Rocky Point is the Cape Palliser Lighthouse, the colony of New Zealand Fur Seals and other viewpoints which are spectacular.
