From the shores of Mission Bay in Auckland, New Zealand, visitors can enjoy the scenery of Rangitoto Island, home to a large volcano. Dark colored clouds move in over Rangitoto Island which could bring in with them, coastal rain.
Rangitoto Island off the North Island of New Zealand, has not erupted in the last six hundred years. This island was non-existent until an eruption took place and forced the land upwards through the surface of the water. The island now sits approximately 250 meters above the water level where visitors can board a ferry for a 35 minute ride to explore the volcanic landscape.
