Every bulldozer in the town of Ngawi, Wairarapa on the North Island of New Zealand is brightly painted with its own set of eyes and each one has a name. This pink bulldozer is called Tinky Winky, one of many which launch boats in and out of the water as these coastal shores are extremely rocky and the waves can be overbearing at times.
Wharves do not exist along these coastal shores and even the bulldozers will get stuck at times due to the force of the water crashing onto the beach. People trying to use their own vehicles to tow their boat would never be able to get off the beach.
The community of Ngawi keeps each bulldozer finely tuned and repainted in eye catching colors making them easy to spot as they race back and forth along the beach. When visiting the town of Ngawi in Wairarapa, New Zealand, one will notice that there are more bulldozers in the town than the total population.
