Massive waves crash against the rugged coastline of Curio Bay at the Fossil Forest along the Southern Scenic Route in Southland, New Zealand, creating quite a show as they spray upwards towards the sky as the tide heads in. The kelp once again begins to dip below the surface of the water and the fossils which may have been here for over 160 million years begin to disappear until low tide.
The coastline of Curio Bay is at the mercy of the Pacific Ocean and the waves hit the coastline hard, especially if strong winds are blowing.
