As you drive through the town of Opunake, Taranaki on the North Island of New Zealand, it is hard to miss the brilliant colors which create the wall murals. This set of wall murals is a collection called "Reflections of Opunake" and was designed and painted by a mural artist known as Dennis Lattimer.
This wall mural traces the history of the town of Opunake displaying the rich farming town, the Maori culture and the modern day industry. Before the Egmont Arts Council put this project to work which was painted in April and May of 2002, all that adorned this street was the plain exterior of the buildings.
When visitors come to Opunake, Taranaki on the North Island of New Zealand, it is almost guaranteed that they will be taking a few pictures of this unique wall mural.
