The scenery is beautiful along the rugged West Coast of the North Island of New Zealand, especially here at Muriwai Beach, where the water tosses itself amongst the jagged rocks. The sun is barely visible across the horizon leaving behind the sunset lighting sparkling off the surface of the water as the clouds disperse themselves across the sky.
Located approximately 42 kilometers northwest of Auckland, Muriwai is a favorite place for tourists. Here they can enjoy the beauty of the coastline, especially at sunset, and view the Muriwai Beach Australasian Gannet Colony which come to these rugged coastal cliffs to nest and breed.
