Muriwai Beach is located on the West Coast of the North Island of New Zealand where a stretch of beach spans for 50 kilometers along this coastal area. Approximately 2,000 permanent residents live in Muriwai Beach, a small community near Auckland, along with yearly visitors of about 2,400 nesting Australasian Gannets. Between August and March, many tourists travel to Muriwai Beach to admire these birds soaring above the Tasman Sea and to watch the amazing sunsets decorate the sky.
