At the top of the track at Motuarohia (Roberton) Island, tourists sit on a wooden bench and enjoy the scenery which overlooks an area in the Bay of Islands on the North Island of NZ. The journey starts at the main beach and ends at the top where one side of the island shows off its rugged coastline, while the other is a tranquil cove.
In the quiet bay, boats can easily anchor while tourists swim, snorkel, tan and water ski and most people stay clear of the opposite side of Motuarohia (Roberton) Island as the waters can become fairly dangerous. The hike to this viewpoint is only 350 meters or approximately 467 steps, with an incline which can be a little tiring but well worth the effort when you see the scenery of the island from above.
