The scenery from the 350m long track overlooking the bay around Motuarohia Island in Northland, New Zealand is stunning. The turquoise colored water curves around the shoreline as a beach runs the length of the bay with lush greenery surrounding it.
Boats anchor in the harbour for some downtime while people hike along the well marked 350m track which takes approximately 15 minutes to complete where they can enjoy the scenery.
Another track for the more adventurous types is the 4 kilometer track which takes you through the forest, over ridges and down to the beaches on one side of the island. On the other side of Motuarohia Island, the coastal shores are formed from rugged rocks where the water crashes against them creating quite the opposite effect than the quietness of the bay.
