From the Mission Estate Winery in Hawkes Bay on the North Island of New Zealand, one can overlook the perfected vineyards where the grapes are grown for various types of wine. There are several vineyard sites throughout New Zealand, with three being located in Hawkes Bay, but each one is chosen for its perfect conditions for growing different styles of grapes for selected wines.
The Church Road vineyard started in 1910 produces Mission Estate wines such as Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewurtztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and Cabernet Franc while the Mere Road vineyard creates Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet, Franc, Syrah and Petit Verdot.
The Mission Estate Winery has been given various awards for their outstanding wines and everyone knows that the whole process of good wine making begins in the vineyards.
