Bright yellow, orange and pink hues encompass the sky above Taranaki and the Tasman Sea on the North Island of New Zealand as dark clouds aimlessly float by. The sunset lighting filters through the clouds creating a streak of bright pink along the bottom of the clouds.
Off the coastline of Taranaki, approximately 21 miles out across the Tasman Sea, one of two of the Maui Gas Platforms sits. The other platform is located approximately 10 miles further offshore. Each platform will stay situated for a few years until the entire reserve has been depleted.
