The statue of a Little Blue Penguin along the main street of Oamaru, Otago on the South Island of New Zealand, is one of the sights which is photographed the most by tourists who come to this town. Made of Oamaru Stone, this statue was created with a partial smile on its face as his beak points skywards.
The town of Oamaru is well known for these cute little birds as they waddle up the beach during the evening hours and as the sun begins to rise, they head back to the water. Tourists can watch the Little Blue Penguins in their natural surroundings from special viewing sites.
