Gazing out over the rough west coast waters, Lion Rock divides North Beach and South Beach in Piha near Auckland, New Zealand.

A natural formation and division of the two beaches of Piha, Lion Rock resembles a large male lion. A trail leads to the top of the lions head and affords a stupendous view of the beach which is fringed by the Tasman Sea on one side and native bush on the other.
