Daily at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Kaka Birds who reside at the Mount Bruce National Wildlife Centre in Wairarapa on the North Island of NZ, come to their feeding post. Here, visitors can watch these native birds as they swoop in from the trees ready for their meals.
The Kaka Birds are bred at this sanctuary along with other rare species of NZ birds until the numbers increase so that they are kept off the endangered species list. Once the numbers seem well above average, the birds are released into their natural environment where they are watched closely to ensure there survival rate remains steady.
