Low tide has allowed the rocks along the coastline on the Kaikoura Peninsula on the South Island of NZ to emerge as the sunset lighting reflects off the ocean's surface and the rugged landscape. As the waves come in off the Pacific Ocean, they crash against the rocks where waterways are made around the base of the rocks and small sea creatures can be found hiding.
This sunset has colored the sky over the Kaikoura Peninsula in soft yellow tones as clouds scatter themselves about with the lighting filtering through them. These rock formations are located near the Seal Colony and when the tide is out, fur seals can be seen laid out on the rocks where the sunset lighting reflects off their massive bodies.
These rocks are spread out along the coastline for 5 kilometers, giving the members of the seal colony plenty of room to relax and bask in the sunlight. The Kaikoura Peninsula on the South Island of NZ is picturesque at sunset especially when the tide is out and the New Zealand Fur Seals partake in some activity.
