This historic building was first opened in 1907, which houses the Oamaru Opera House in Otago on the South Island of New Zealand and was constructed with Oamaru "Whitestone". On its completion, it was used by political groups, government officials and lawyers. The beautiful architecture of the historic two storey building is done in an Edwardian baroque style which was very popular around the New Zealand area, especially on civic and government buildings.
The opera house has since been restored and refurbished with a 500 seat theatre, a conference venue and a black box theatre which people can enjoy when visiting the downtown core of Oamaru, Otago.
