Goat Island Marine Reserve near Leigh in Northland, New Zealand was founded in 1975, with its first official opening in 1977. The shallow waters around Goat Island are ideal for divers, snorkelers, swimmers and visitors aboard the boat tours where they can watch the undersea world come alive.
