Four Sisters Waipoua Forest Northland
Photo & Vacation Spot

Close growing Kauri trees sometimes band together and begin growing from one central point - such is the case with the Four sisters in Waipoua Forest in Northland.

Look out for the signpost to the Kauri Walks while travelling along Highway 12 in Northland (north of Dargaville). From the car park, which comes complete with security, visitors walk along a trail which is fringed by low lying scrub. The first trail off to the right is the trail to the Four Sisters which is a clump of four large kauri trees growing together from one point.

The Waipoua Forest which is the home of the Four Sisters is one of the last remaining tracts of native forest in Northland, New Zealand.
