The landscape is perfectly manicured around the historic architectural masterpiece of the First Church located in Dunedin, Otago on the South Island of New Zealand. The history of the First Church dates back to the first settlers in Otago and back to the Scottish destruction of 1843.

Robert Arthur Lawson was a famous architect in the 19th century who created over forty churches, one being the First Church. The multi-pinnacled tower is topped off by a spire which reaches a height of 180 feet and can be seen from most areas in central Dunedin.

A beautiful Gothic styled church constructed of Oamaru stone is one of the most important churches to see while visiting Otago on the South Island of New Zealand.
