Taking time out in his habitat at the Auckland Zoo on the North Island of New Zealand, this Emu watches the tourists pass by as they stop to take a picture. The Emu is the second largest bird in the world, originating from Australia, with the Ostrich being the first.
The Emu has a brownish/gray colored shaggy looking plumage with a long, black neck and a small tuft of hair on the top of its head. Growing to about 6 1/2 feet tall and weighing between 66 and 130 pounds, the Emu fascinates many people who visit the Auckland Zoo.
