An Oriental Small Clawed Otter at the Auckland Zoo on the North Island of New Zealand, lays his cute little head down to rest on a large piece of wood as we capture his picture. This otter shares his home with other female Small Clawed Otters and they can often be seen searching for food throughout the habitat as the keepers hide it in logs and live eel dens.
This species of otter is the smallest found in the world and they are usually seen on the dry areas of land more than they are in the water. A very playful animal who likes to roll and tumble and slide down mud banks on their bellies.
