At low tide, the coastline at Curio Bay in Southland, New Zealand bares the colorful yellow and brown hues of the bull kelp clinging to the rocks as the ocean white caps dance across the surface. As the tide comes in, the bull kelp disappears under the water until the next tide change.
Visitors to the Fossil Forest at Curio Bay, should ensure it is low tide to explore the ancient fossils, the bull kelp and all the sea creatures which make this coastline their home.
