With blue sky spanning above the threatening storm clouds at sunset, the sunbeams break through and filter downwards in the Catlins Forest at Porpoise Bay and Curio Bay in Southland, New Zealand. Located at the south eastern corner of the South Island, the weather systems can change rapidly and storm clouds can quickly take over the region.
The Catlins attracts many tourists due to the incredible sunsets and the variety of wildlife, favorites being the Yellow-eye Penguins, Hector's Dolphins and New Zealand Fur Seals. Being a rugged, coastline which is a sparsely populated area, the wildlife thrives around the tranquility of the area.
