Daily sailing trips are offered aboard the Carino, a 50 foot catamaran which takes passengers around the Bay of Islands off the North Island of New Zealand to see the picturesque scenery and amazing wildlife. Dolphins flit about the water near the catamaran and on some trips, passengers are even allowed to swim with them.
Here the captain of the Carino maneuvers about the water while the beautiful summer sun beats down upon the Bay of Islands. The captain and crew hosting these day sailing trips have had many years of experience around the Bay of Islands and have come to learn the behavioral traits of the dolphins.
The crew will also show passengers, a maximum of 40, how to set and trim the sails while aboard the catamaran and treat them to a nice lunch while moored in scenic bays. There is no better way to spend a warm summer day and a memorable one while vising the Bay of Islands in New Zealand.
