A beautiful drive on a spring or summer day is along the Crown Range route between Lake Wanaka and Queenstown in Central Otago. The road is not far from the river, as it wends its way through the Cardrona Valley fringed by a variety of colourful blooms including lupin flowers.
The Cardrona River is a tributary of the mighty Clutha River which flows from Lake Wanaka.
