The walkway leading towards the Cape Reinga Lighthouse in Northland, New Zealand is hard packed making the walk to the scenic coastal cliff accessible to all visitors. This is where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet making the waters extremely hazardous at times, which is why a lighthouse has stood here since May of 1941.
The point where the Cape Reinga Lighthouse watches over the region marks the northern tip of New Zealand. Maori people believe this location to be of extreme importance to their beliefs, culture and traditions.
