Where the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean meet off the coastal shores of Northland, New Zealand, the water churns creating white caps across the surface. These treacherous waters have been the cause of many water accidents and since 1941, the Cape Reinga Lighthouse has been able to aid most mariners safely across this region.
