The waves show a small bit of rage as they crash against the rugged coastline of Cape Foulwind near Westport on the West Coast of the South Island of NZ, this being nothing compared to the power and fury during a storm. This rugged coastline is one visitors should take advantage of while on the South Island of NZ as the beauty is spectacular especially during the sunset hours.
Along this rugged coastline there is a colony of seals which can be seen throughout the year from a viewing platform. The rocks extend a fair distance out into the sea and the seals have a large selection to choose from when they feel the urge to lounge around.
On this particular day, the sea is fairly calm and the lighting is ideal to capture the beauty of the region while listening to the roar of the water breaking onto the coastline. Temperatures can become fairly cold at Cape Foulwind when gale force winds sweep through the region and it is best to have a jacket on hand to thoroughly enjoy your visit.
