Standing proud atop a rock, a bronze statue of a sheepdog has been erected along the shore of Lake Tekapo in Canterbury, NZ. This Collie sheepdog is a memorial to all the sheepdogs who worked hard on the farms throughout the years in the Mackenize County in NZ.
Each sheepdog was an important addition to the farms and without their help, keeping the mountainous country in one piece would have been beyond reach. Since March 7th, 1968, this bronze statue has stood on the shore of Lake Tekapo. The sunlight beats down upon the sheepdog as a thin wisp of clouds float aimlessly by on this beautiful NZ summer day.
