An elegant looking bird, the Australasian Gannet is a large seabird found off the southern coast of Australia and in three main colonies in New Zealand namely Cape Kidnappers, Muriwai near Auckland, and at Farewell Spit at the top of the South Island.
These gannets feature a white body with striking black wing tips and a yellow head. Their face is accentuated with a blue eye liner and a grey bill which is highlighted with vivid black lines.
