Inside the Aranui Limestone Cave at the Waitomo Caves in Waikato, New Zealand, visitors can explore the stalactites and stalagmites adorning the interior of the cave. Stalactites resemble that of icicles which hang off the ceilings and are formed from mineral deposits.
There are many limestone formations throughout the Aranui Cave and to enter this unique world one must pass through the natural entrance but not before passing by the cave wetas near the opening. This cave is a dry one and the local people of Waitomo consider this cave to be one of magic filled with Maori myths and legends.
