The crystal clear water appearing as a light green hue in Anchorage Bay is ideal for kayaking while visiting Abel Tasman National Park on the South Island of NZ. A kayaker has the right technique while paddling in Anchorage Bay with all the needed supplies tucked in under the bungy cords on top of the kayak.
Coves, bays and lagoons around Abel Tasman National Park are some of the prettiest to explore for kayakers, all amongst some of New Zealand's most breathtaking scenery. The waters in Anchorage Bay and around the coastal shores of Abel Tasman National Park are fairly serene making this a low to medium impact adventure.
Kayakers are taken by a water taxi to the most scenic areas of Abel Tasman National Park where they launch themselves in to the waters off the sandy beaches. Different tours are available, some being a day excursion while others can be a few days or even a week.
