The view of the harbour and the town of Akaroa in Canterbury on the South Island of New Zealand has the scenery of lush, green, volcanic hills towering over the waterfront where the pier and beach homes are located. Along the waterfront, people will often spot Hectors Dolphins traveling amongst these waters or they can board one of the boat tours which leaves the harbour to see various species of wildlife.
The waterfront walk is beautiful on a summer day where crowds of people come to enjoy the scenery, the action happening around the harbour and the restaurants, cafes, shops and hotels. The colonial architecture in this historic French and British town is amazing, all which is nestled in the centre of an ancient volcano.
Every year, the waterfront in the town of Akaroa is becoming busier as people can not resist the scenery and summer fun here.
