Stained glass windows are beautiful at the best of times, but these ones are extremely colorful as the light shines through while looking at them from the inside of the First Church of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. Each of the stained glass windows have a meaning and biblical story behind them which have become an integral part of religious architecture for centuries.
The First Church of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand was built in 1873 and is a neo-Gothic building. The name "First Church" designates the congregation over the building and this church has become one of the most prominent features in the City of Dunedin.
The interior of the church is amazing with the spire reaching 185 feet, the pulpit and baptismal, the carvings, the organ and the beautiful stories told through the beauty of the stained glass windows. Worshippers almost completely fill the church on a regular basis but visitors to Dunedin, New Zealand are welcome to tour through the church and admire its architectural design.
