Gillespies Beach in Westland, New Zealand has the ideal collection of rocks to build an Inukshuk while watching the display of hues adorn the sky at sunset. The landscape around Gillespies Beach consists of glaciers, ocean and rainforest which makes the area exceptional for watching nature take over the sky at sunset.
An Inukshuk means "likeness of person" which originated from the Inuit people who formed these rock formations to be used as directional markers for trails, food locations or places where fishing or hunting was exceptional. Inukshuks are still used today as cultural symbols on flags, landmarks or markers, but many people create them as a form of simple pleasure.
